The Cattle Baron's Ball in Dallas, Texas is an auction/party held annually where the money raised goes to the American Cancer Society. The night in 2012 raised $39 million. Each year the theme of the night changes and in 2012 the theme was Give Cancer the Boot. My design direction was chosen for the year. I was responsible for the logo and overall design direction, overall design direction for the night's auction catalog, ticket package collateral and stationery.
The
catalog was a huge undertaking. Since the year was focused on giving
cancer the boot we wanted the catalog to tell the story of how the
American Cancer Society has helped in doing just that. Each divider page
illustrates a fact that the American Cancer Society helped fund. I hand
lettered, illustrated and designed the divider pages, cover and title
page and agency ad. The copy was written by Nedal and rest of the book
was designed by Madeline and Sherri.
